Stilleben

Stilleben — the Swedish word for “still life” — is an object with dual functions. A sculptural, curvy and embracing bowl on one side, and a wavy platter when turned the other way.

The billowy hills and valleys creates a natural resting spot for fruits to rest in. The open construction makes sure that the fruit-maturing gasses produced can easily flow away, prolonging the time the fruit stays ripe.

The repeating profiles creates dramatic shadow play and a shape that surprises from all angles. As inspired by Scandinavian modernism as classical Swedish vessels — Stilleben has infinite uses as a container not only for fruit but all the things you hold dear.

Created together with Lina Blass & Fanny Axnér.

Made out of laser-cut recycled aluminum, with a unique half-in-half construction using gravity to its advantage, enabling Stilleben to be assembled without bolts, nuts or welding.
